     The homeowners wanted to transform their existing first floor bedroom into a larger master bedroom suite with amenities comparable to those found in new homes today rather than having to leave their beautiful wooded lot and neighborhood.  This was accomplished through a 450 square foot addition and renovation of the existing space.  The master bedroom has a 9 foot tray ceiling, with hardwood floors and a gas fireplace.  The new master His and Hers bathroom includes two walk-in showers with one of them incorporating universal design with its curbless entry.  The floors are a French Vanilla marble layed on a diagonal with a contrasting Maresco marble base. The bathroom walls are faux painted to bring out the beauty of the Maresco marble.  Custom maple cabinetry was white wash stained to match the master bedroom furniture.  The countertops are one piece Maresco marble with undermounted sinks. A defogger was installed behind the mirrors. The 140 square feet master bedroom closet includes custom maple cabinetry finished natural. Leading from the master bedroom is an Ipe deck with wrap around bench seating designed so as not to obstruct views from the interior of the home. The decking was installed on a 45 degree angle with a blind attachment system on the same level as the house.  Also incorporated in the plan was better traffic flow from the kitchen to the exterior of the home, storage on the second floor, a convenient laundry room, renovation of a second floor bathroom and a covered front entry.
