The homeowners wanted to update their 20 year old kitchen, adding an adjacent family gathering area linking with their outdoor living space.  We worked with the homeowners to help them achieve their goals for their home.  The new layout reoriented the kitchen in order to open it up to the new family gathering area or sunroom. The two rooms were designed to function as one new space. The sunroom height was increased to ten feet making the room feel more open and inviting, while new skylights brought in more natural light.  One corner of the new sunroom was angled to enhance the view of the outdoors.  The original deck was removed, but the new mulit-level outdoor living space incorporates an existing gazebo having sentimental value for the family.

The finished project successfully integrates the living areas providing wonderful flow and function for the family.  It earned THREE STAR AWARDS from the Remodeler’s Council of the Wake County Home Builders Association.
